Workshops in Floristry

These workshops are intense and are offered as a full day course. Whether you wish to change career and become a professional florist, learn a new skill for pleasure or add a creative touch to a special occasion, our wide range of courses will enable you to learn how to create beautiful designs They offer accelerated  floristry training without to  the need attend a lengthy college course  it will help you to be successful and give you training that you need to develop the artistic and business skills needed.  The course is offered  in separate modules which include  practical designs and theory.  A detailed manual with diagrams is also included. Each module covers a variety of floral designs from suitablity of flowers to costing of the final product.  All materials are included in the cost of the course.  Finally a certificate of achievement will be presented to course participants reflecting the modules covered in the workshop.

Floristry modules on offer:

• Introduction to floristry including gift packaging and basic designs - Includes: conditioning, costing, gift packaging a single flower, cone wrapped bouquet, Hand- tied bouquet, modern design in a container and a design for a table.

•  Funeral floristry- Includes: A based heart with a spray, Single-ended funeral spray, sympathy basket, open wreath, taking a funeral order, costing and delivering of flowers.

• Wedding Floristry -  Variety of Button holes, Corsage, Bridesmaid hand - tied, Bridal shower bouquet,  Top table arrangement, costing.

• Advanced wedding floristry - Pew end, Designer Bridal Bouquet, Pedestal arrangement, Wrist corsage, Cake decoration.

• Asian Wedding Floristry - Wedding garlands, hair piece, Table centre and button holes costing and ordering of flowers.

• Theory -  where to buy stock, ,wedding quotes, ordering and choosing plant material,opening and setting up a shop, employing staff, relay service, advertising,customer relations,contract work and preparing a portfolio, margin- overhead expenses.

Learn to marzipan and cover a 6 inch fruit cake professionally.  This workshop is aimed at improvers and beginners.  You will also learn to make a wired poinsettia and holly leaves and dust the flower to make it look realistic.  The cost includes all materials.  You will learn to make a fruit cake into a mini masterpiece.
